124495 - Research and Development of Three-Dimensional Isolation System for Sodium-Cooled Fast Reactor Part 8 Assembly Static Test Results of Three-Dimensional Isolated Device by Bi-Axial Loadings
The authors have been developing the three-dimensional isolation system for the Sodium-cooled Fast Reactor. The three-dimensional isolationdevice consists of the laminated rubber bearing performing the horizontal isolation function, four-disc spring units, the sliding function, strengthmembers such as the horizontal support function, and dampers in the horizontal and vertical directions.
We carried out the half-scaled integrated seismic tests under several bi-axial severe loading conditions from seismic design base loads to significantly exceeding seismic design base loads, which are combined of horizontal and vertical ones, as shown in Part 7. The test specimen was assembled elements consisting of three-dimensional seismic isolation system, but the horizontal and vertical damping devices were not modeled because of static loading tests. We will report test results obtained from the static bi-axial seismic loadings, as follows.
1. Behavior of smooth operation and ensuring the independency of horizontal isolation and vertical isolation performances under horizontal andvertical loads superposition
2. Hypothesis and verification of load transfer mechanism under horizontal and vertical loads superposition
3. Effect of reinforcing plates on the loading force reduction of horizontal support function
4. Conditions of the specimen after tests and discussion
In Part 9, the seismic response analyses for the building applying the three-dimensional isolation system were carried out with using the simplified mass model by fine analysis models, considering knowledge based on tests results.

Presenting Author Biography: I earned a master's degree from Yokohama National University in 1986.
It's great to join ASME PVP conference for the first time in four years.
For this four yeas, we have continued the developement of the three-dimensional isolation device through the tests.
So, this time I am honored that I can report our results with the continued same paper title.
