107004 - Seal Failure Analysis of O-Ring Seal Based on Two-Way Fluid-Structure Interaction
O-ring seal is widely used in pressure system to maintain pressure.However, in actual work, due to the excessive pressure of the system and the unreasonable structure, excessive distortion of the O-ring seal is often caused, which leads to seal failure and medium leakage, which not only causes pollution to the environment, but also serious engineering accidents.In order to further study the distortion of O-ring seal under high pressure conditions and analyse the mechanism of seal failure, a two-way fluid-structure interaction model of O-ring seal is constructed based on the Mooney-Rivlin hyperelastic constitutive model and the dynamic mesh technique.The stress distribution and the deformation of the O-ring seal under the high pressure condition of 100 MPa are both simulated, and the key parts of the seal ring that are easy to occur seal failure could be obtained.Then, the method of applying the same pressure directly on the O-ring seal is used to conduct the simulation analysis of one-way fluid-structure interaction, and the results obtained are compared with the results of two-way fluid-structure interaction, which proves that the proposed two-way fluid-structure interaction method owns better applicability in the seal performance analysis.The proposed method will provide method support for the subsequent optimization of the O-ring seal structure, and then improve the seal performance of the O-ring seal to ensure its normal work in the high pressure system.
